Submissions for the 2nd Stortford Film Festival are now open!

Following the success of the 1st Stortford Film Festival in May 2010 the festival is set to return in 2011 bigger, better and more exciting than before!

We are looking for all sorts of films – any genre, any length, any language, any style and by filmmakers of any age so we can put together the best possible festival programme. And unlike most festivals, submission is free! For more information or to request a submission pack go to www.stortfordfilmfestival.org or call +44 7583 734 504. Also, check out our page on Facebook!

As well as an exciting programme of original films, this year we’re hoping to host educational events for anyone with an interest in film or the film industry.

Andy Graham, programming director at festival partner, Rhodes, said “Rhodes is looking forward to hosting, with our partners, an even bigger festival of international films as well as those local to the town.”

As well as looking for original films we’re also looking for original film inspired artwork to be displayed at Rhodes during the festival. Like the films the artwork can be in any medium or style as long as it’s inspired by film. If you’ve got work you’d like to be considered get in touch!

“We are really excited about this,” said David Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive of Hertfordshire Community Foundation, one of the Festival Sponsors. “The first Film Festival showcased excellent talent across wide range of styles. We are looking forward to supporting an even wider range of talent in 2011″.

The 2nd Stortford film festival is set to be part of an exciting new cultural project designed to help ensure that Bishop’s Stortford is recognised as a venue for high quality arts and entertainment! Get filmmaking, get in touch and get involved!
