Is this professionally produced film a fan film? By definition if it hasn’t been sanctioned by the actual license owners so no matter if James Cameron produced it or your neighbor Stan Silverman it’s a fan film. Just because there are actual Hollywood and television actors in it still doesn’t exclude it as a fan film. So a more interesting question is what exactly is it? To what I can find this film is directed by Kevin Tancharoen and is being offered to Warner Brothers as a reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise. It will be interesting to see where this leads if anywhere.
