Batman: Seeds of Arkham

Seeds of Arkham is yet another Bat in the Sun production. If you don’t count Super Hero Beat Down it’s actually the last fan film Aaron Schoenke and his production company released. That about seven years ago. As I do write ups for the film on the site I can’t believe how much time has passed.

Bat in the Sun Productions is proud to present its newest film, Seeds of Arkham, directed by Aaron Schoenke. It is a sequel to their other popular web film “City of Scars” which premiered last year exclusively on Dailymotion. The film follows the chaos that breaks out in Gotham City after the Clown Prince of Crime dies. Seeds of Arkham features Kevin Porter, reprising his role as Batman, Xango Henry as Killer Croc, Alexa Mey as Poison Ivy and Aaron Schoenke as Nightwing.

Kevin Porter returns once again as the iconic character of the Batman. Porter always does a solid job in these fan films. He’s probably done the best portrayal of the character in fan film form. I don’t see him up on the big screen as the character, but as an independent production he is well on top.

If I remember correctly this was to be the beginning of a series of fan films. And if I remember correctly there was even an IndieGoGo or a Kickstarter campaign to produce more episodes. They never made their goal so the additional episodes were never made. Then Super Hero Beat Down came along and that all seemed to go away.

This also explains why this particular film doesn’t have a complete narrative. It was made as a jumping point for that new series, a jumping point that just didn’t happen. That’s what happens to a lot of these fan film ambitions. Sometimes they just don’t work out. I guess the same thing can be said for ideas that come out of Hollywood.

Bat in the Sun Productions was founded in 2001 by Aaron and Sean Schoenke. Their work has collected many film festival awards, and has received notable attention from the film industry, as well as a loyal fan base. Their films have been featured on USA Today, MTV, The Wall Street Journal and The Huffington Post.

If you like the other Bat in the Sun production fan films you’ll like this one. They’ve always gotten better over time.
