Making quite a splash in the DW fan film community, the first episode of Doctor Who: An Unofficial Fan Series aspires to be the Star Trek: New Voyages of the Who set. Strong performances and finely-tuned CG effects make this about as much like the “real” series as you could ask for. And, if all turns out well, there’ll eventually be twelve more just like it.

The Doctor and the Master have been enemies for nearly all of their lives. Now in his ninth regeneration, and accompanied by Sylvie Lydon, his companion of several years, the Doctor has been ordered to seal the Master’s base of operations after the evil timelord’s apparant death.
Discovering that the Master is still alive, Sylvie pays the ultimate price. It’s a vengeful Doctor who persues the Master into an alternate universe, to a twisted version of the planet Earth, where it is impossible to tell who is friend and who is foe. The Doctor begins a quest to confront the Master once and for all, and finds that his belief system is now in serious jeopardy.

Seattle filmmaker Ryan K. Johnson made four Doctor Who fan films in the 1980s, and was quite possibly the very first director to cast a female in the role of the Doctor. This, the fourth and final of his Who fan vids, is distinctly the best, a surreal story set in a dangerous netherworld in which the Doctor and her faithful companion Carl try to make their way through a series of tests.

BBC The Amazing Spider-Man

In 1995, BBC Radio commissioned a Spider-Man audio book which aired on BBC Radio 1 over 50 episodes on week days between January 15, 1996 and March 24, 1996. The performance was co-produced by Brian May who also contributed to the musical arrangement and wrote and performed the theme tune.
The scope of the story included a number of familiar characters from the Spider-Man comic books as well as key figures from the Marvel “Heroes” universe such as Fantastic Four, Namor the Submariner, and Doctor Doom.
