Episode 27

September 27, 2008

When most young people are spending their time playing video games, watching some obscure reality show, or just generally trying to figure out what to do with their lives Dan Nastro is making movies. One particular short production is of course a fan film spotlighting the junior miss from Krypton, Supergirl as in Confessions of a Teenage Supergirl. At nineteen, Dan has an already impressive list of credits to his name with experience that will propel him into the next generation of movie makers. Dan is twenty years younger than the host as well as twenty years more mature as you’ll discover in this week's podcast.

Episode 26

We have a different tone for this week’s show. Let’s call it our POT LUCK show as we incorporate various bits that have been cluttering the hard drive. Joshua Hawks from JEDIz and Jinxes joins us this time out for a short interview. The interview was recorded through SKYPE and for reasons unknown didn’t come out so well. I’ll be crossing SKYPE off my list of programs to use for this PODCAST.

Comedy Bits used in the cast where stolen from…errr…I mean provided by…

Maritess Versus Super Friends performed by comedian Rex Navarrete.

Batman bit by Crank Yankers found on Comedy Central.

WOW! 25 episodes. Thanks to all the great guests who have agreed to appear on our CAST. CHEERS! And here’s to another 25 episodes.

Hervé St-Louis from the Comic Book Bin concludes his talk this week. Topics discussed are Bollywood, film creator vs. license owner rights in direct relation to fan films, and of course we go off on tangents in typical FFP style.

Episode 24

September 6, 2008

You may or may not be aware that the Fan Film Podcast has a couple sister sites. Of course there’s Fanboy Will’s Fanboy Theatre as well as my very own Fan Film Follies, but there’s also a third entity called the Comic Book Bin.

The BIN is the host and where I post all the great fan films we talk about on the FFP. It’s also the leading comic book news and reviews site stationed in Canada. The founder of the site is one Hervé St-Louis. I guess you can say he’s the boss when it comes to the Comic Book Bin. He has a deep passion about the comic book industry which you’ll clearly understand as you listen to this week’s cast.

Some of what you’ll hear this week is how DC comics wanted the BIN’S fan film section taken down before they would start sending materials for review, Hervé’s run in with IDW, and I learn the definition of “metrosexual”.

Also, Will has resurfaced and should be back on the cast very soon. I’ll do my best to carry the torch, but it’s like running a marathon with no legs.
