Young amateur filmmaker Luke Richert has been planning an Indiana Jones fan film for over 7 years. Like many, seeing “Raiders of the Lost Ark” for the first time captured his sense of adventure. He wanted to make an adventure film like that. And 7 years later, despite a few false starts, he finally did, the result being “Indiana Jones and the Ring of Solomon.”
The plot centers on the intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones as he finds himself caught in a globe-trotting race with the Nazis to find the legendary Ring of Solomon, which according to myths grants the bearer unlimited power. It will take him from the hot jungles of Brazil to the mystic ruins of India, finally leading up to the climax in a tomb in Egypt. Will this be his last adventure?
This is not Luke’s first step into the world of fan movies, as his production company, First Act Films, has created both James Bond and Doctor Who tributes before. “With this one,” says Luke, “I really just wanted to emulate that fun pulp-adventure feeling you get from Spielberg and Lucas’s classic movies.”
