Grayson: Earth One

Grayson: Earth One is a well-produced, well-shot and well-acted fan film. The episodes scream quality in every frame. This is when most people question why the filmmakers spent all their efforts on someone else’s intellectual property instead of creating their own concept. Answer being – they’re fans. That’s why we have fan films.

“Grayson: Earth One” is the re-imagined origin story of the hero known as Nightwing/Richard Grayson. The series takes place in a new continuity on a new Earth separate from the DC Universe, freeing it from continuity restraints.

“Grayson: Earth One” season one is a non-profit six episode season dedicated to exploring the origin story of the DC character known as Nightwing — but with a twist. The twist being that Richard Grayson has never had the good fortune of being adopted as a child by Bruce Wayne, thus never becoming the boy wonder. Instead, we have a Richard Grayson that had to fend for himself on the unforgiving streets of Gotham and, even worse, the streets of Bludhaven. A character that has to overcome years of dog eat dog mentality to become a selfless and kind individual. To ultimately fulfill his destiny and become a HERO.

Grayson: Earth One never went beyond the two episodes even know it boasts it will have a six episode first season. This concept was pretty ambitious to begin with. I see a lot of fan film series that are planning to make oodles of episode never produce. That doesn’t demean the efforts here. It just seems to be the standard among fan film makers who plan on making a complete series, but fall flat on one or two episodes.

The last episode was released two years ago. Their website is down. Their YouTube hasn’t had a new upload in two years. Their FaceBook page hasn’t been updated in a year. It’s a safe bet we’ll never see any more episodes. Enjoy what we were given. You won’t be disappointed.
